About this Blog | Simple Living & Everyday Joy

I’m glad you’re here.

I started Savor the Simple Things as a place to pause. In a world that moves too fast, we often don’t take the time to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures that life has to offer.

In 2020 when the world shut down, my full-time job in indie publishing moved from a New Jersey office building to my dining room in suburban Philadelphia. As many were laid off, I worked longer days than ever—10, sometimes 11 hours straight—beyond grateful to be employed but completely exhausted. My home, once a refuge, became my office, my lunchroom, and my breakroom.

Like many, I coped by turning inward. I cooked from my pantry, baked all those recipes I’d pinned, and finally tackled my towering TBR pile. I tried to soften the sharp edges of fear with self-care, comfort food, and slower living.

Now, even as the chaos has quieted, those small comforts remain. Here, I share the recipes, rhythms, and rituals that helped me feel grounded—and still do.

If you crave simplicity, seasonal living, and moments that feel like taking a deep breath, you’re in the right place.

Welcome. The candles are lit, and the coffee’s hot. I’m so glad you’re here.
